Details: In 1992, a group of Palo Alto area parents of developmentally disabled children approached MidPen Housing Corp. to provide service-enriched housing for their adult children. Entering into a partnership with Silicon Valley Independent Living Center, MidPen developed Page Mill Court for very low-income adults with developmental disabilities who are able to live independently. Parca, a nonprofit agency, provides on-site services to the residents. A community building, computer center, common courtyard and outdoor spaces, as well as landscaped areas, provide places for resident gatherings and activities. The sound wall along Page Mill Road has been transformed into a ceramic tile mural designed by Ann Weber and supported by a grant from Varian Associates. Artists with disabilities created the tiles installed in the wall.
