Details: Edenvale Special Needs Housing is an attractive two-story apartment building set around a courtyard. The 15-unit development on Monterey Highway in San Jose is for adults living with developmental disabilities. There are 11 one-bedroom units from 596-625 s.f. and 3 two-bedroom units at 826 s.f.. The development meets all ADA standards. Two-bedroom units were designed to house an attendant or family member living with the resident. Management also lives on site. Edenvale has a 733 s.f. community room, laundry room and two offices for site management and services. Inviting landscaped gardens and seating completes the picture. Eden Housing provides professional, caring property management services for Edenvale, and partners with Housing Choices Coalition (HCC) to provide services and support for the residents. HCC works with the San Andreas Regional Center, which evaluates a client's service needs, developing an individual program plan and connecting the individual with agencies approved by the state to provide appropriate services. HCC works from an on-site office space, providing ten hours weekly and on-call emergency situations.The development is surrounded on three sides by Eden Housing's 145-unit town-home family development. Its proximity to public transportation, shopping, and the existing Eden Palms community encourage interaction with the surrounding community and promotes independence for residents able to access these opportunities. In summary, Edenvale is planned to meet the comprehensive housing and service needs of the residents for social interaction, instruction, privacy, and maximum mobility for those in wheelchairs.
