Details: Lutheran Towers is a 93 unit affordable housing community serving limited income senior citizens age 62 and older, as well as the mobility impaired. Lutheran Towers is owned by Our `Savior’s Lutheran Development Corporation, a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) charitable entity registered in the State of California, Rents are subsidized by the federal government through the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Section 8 / 202 Program. Persons eligible for subsidy will pay no more than 30% of their adjusted gross annual income for rent. Upon income verification, background check and credit history check, applicants will be placed on the waiting list, provided they have been determined to be eligible for residency. Specific eligibility requirements are provided in the resident selection plan. Lutheran Towers aims to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing for its residents. CARING Housing Ministries is the management agent, and takes pride in this community and in its selection of staff. Lutheran Towers features one-bedroom apartments to accommodate households ranging from one to three persons. Each apartment comes cable television ready, and is equipped with a stove, refrigerator, carpeting, and either a patio or balcony area. Laundry facilities with coin-operated washers and dryers are provided, and a spacious community room is available for socializing and other resident activities. Residents may own a small pet. Assigned under-ground parking, when available, is also provided, as well as un-gated outside parking. An Attentive office staff is available during office hours to answer questions, and a fulltime maintenance staff can perform repairs. After hours staff is on-site in the evenings and on weekends. A full-time resident services coordinator is on staff to assist residents in such areas as scheduling of medical appointments, arranging transportation, answering questions related to Medicare & Medi-Cal and obtaining services to support other activities of daily living. Residents may sign up for the Meals-on-Wheels of Long Beach program, will deliver a daily meal to residents Monday through Friday for a nominal cost.
