Details: Ashland Village was acquired by Eden Housing in 2009 in order to preserve its long‐term affordability and improve the quality of life of the residents. Ashland Village is a 142‐unit affordable apartment rental community serving low‐income families in unincorporated Alameda County (San Leandro), CA and consists of nine two‐story buildings. The newly acquired and renovated project includes unit upgrades, new roofs and other exterior upgrades that provide better security on site, new play areas, accessibility and landscaping improvements. In addition, a new community building with management offices and a computer lab was built that provides a gathering space and a place for Eden to provide vitally needed community programs. Ashland Village is located adjacent to two restaurants and a Youth Center. It is located near a library and Bay Fair Mall which includes Century Movie theaters, fitness gym, and personal services. A local transit bus route stops right in front of the building, which also provides easy access to freeways 880 and 580. Ashland Village is affordable to households earning 35% ‐ 60% of the Alameda County Area Median Income.

Details: Fuller Gardens provides 16 one and two bedroom apartments for adults with developmental disabilities. The development is on a .81-acre lot adjacent, and connected by a gate, to Fuller Lodge, a development of 26 units of affordable housing built by Eden Housing in 1991, also for adults with developmental disabilities. Fuller Gardens has 12 one-bedroom units and 4 two-bedroom units contained in a single two-story building serviced by an elevator. The building houses the management offices, laundry facilities, storage, and a multi-purpose room for the residents. The development’s outdoor amenities include patio space, an orchard, lawn, and raised planters for community gardens. The award-winning architectural firm of Pyatok Architects, Inc. of Oakland designed Fuller Gardens to look like a manor home, a non-institutional setting where people can live as a family and a community.
