Location: Chula Vista, CA - 91910 Contact Phone: (619) 420-8700 Details: Congregational Tower has 186 non-smoking units, a combination of one bedroom and studios. With 16 brand new handicap accessible one bedroom units that feature lower cabinets, wider doorways and larger bathrooms. Each apartment includes a full kitchen, living/dining area and full bathroom. More than $11.1 million was spent to renovate the building in 2014. Energy efficient renovations in the individual apartments included new bathroom and kitchen plumbing fixtures, new full size appliances, new cabinets and granite countertops, new LED light fixtures, new windows and sliding glass doors, enclosed or walk in closets and a refurbished patio/balcony. Floor and window coverings are new throughout the entire building and each apartment has electric heat and air conditioning. The common areas of Congregational Tower were re-configured and expanded by 2,070 square feet. The community kitchen is equipped with all new appliances and the community room has increased in size. With the re-configuration, the laundry room has been expanded and a computer lab with 4 touchscreen computers and a printer installed, a lounge/library, a recreational/media room with a Nintendo WII system and a large screen Smart TV with popular applications like Netflix available to use, a service coordinator office, an arts and crafts room, an outdoor patio with a gas BBQ, and additional public restrooms have been created. We also offer free Wifi internet access throughout the entire building including each of the apartments. Congregational Tower underwent a number of structural improvements as well. A new roof and new finishes to the exterior of the building are quite visible improvements. All electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems within the building were upgraded or replaced and landscaping was improved. Congregational Tower benefits from its close proximity to the shops and restaurants of “Old Town” Chula Vista. Chula Vista’s full service Norman Park Senior Center is within a half a block of the community. A library, parks, the police station, and the Scripps Hospital are less than a mile away. Public transportation is accessible nearby, with a public bus stop in front of the building. Transportation to local shopping venues is provided every Monday & Thursday free of charge through a transportation grant. It is also available by appointment for personal doctor’s appointments as well as a bi-monthly social outing scheduled by the office staff. |

The garden-style property is located in the city of Chula Vista in south San Diego County. The community was acquired by The RAHD Group in 2014. During their first year of ownership, The RAHD Group performed a substantial renovation of the property in excess of $3,000,000. As a result, each residential unit has received a complete upgrade that includes new appliances, cabinets, countertops, fixtures, flooring and windows. Additionally, the community space has been modernized and enhanced to include a computer lab, tv lounge, full kitchen and meeting room. The community also benefits from a long-term HUD section 8 contract. |

The property was originally developed through a HUD Section 236 loan and later received tax credit financing to complete major renovations of both the exterior and interior components. The property consists of 40 one-bedroom units (480 square feet), 80 two-bedroom units (678 square feet) and 12 three-bedroom units (1035 square feet). We are a gated community and provide the residents with free local transportation on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays to and from shopping, the library, the Post Office and medical appointments The property is sponsored by Alpha Project for the Homeless and is a Non-Profit 501c(3) Corporation. |
