Details: The Birch Tree Communities, Inc. Ash Flat branch serves twenty-two members. Ten live in the group home which is surrounded by tall, lovely trees and has a gazebo in the front yard so you can enjoy sitting outside on nice days. In the group home each person has their own room and shares a bathroom with a suitemate. The home has someone there 24 hours/day. A washing machine and dryer are located on site. We also have independent housing a few yards from the group home and have been successful in helping members find various types of housing in the community. Walmart and the library are within walking distance, as are several churches, restaurants, and thrift stores. Many of our members enjoy going out to town on the weekend and we do shopping trips weekly to the grocery store and Walmart and sometimes thrifty shopping, too. For people interested in furthering their education, Ozarka College has campuses in Ash Flat and in Melbourne and offers a wide range of classes. Members living in Ash Flat attend day treatment at our program center in Oxford, AR. The PC hours are Monday thru Friday 8am-4pm. Day Treatment is offered in the group home on Saturdays from 8am-4pm.
