Surrounded by woods, lakes, rivers and friendly people, Lorraine Glassing Villa consists of 8 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments including kitchen, microwave, living room/dining room combination, air conditioning, and bathroom (some with roll-in showers) which are designed for persons living with physical or developmental disabilities. This building also includes a community room with kitchen facilities, a covered patio area, extra storage, a laundry room, and has a service coordinator available for residents. A service coordinator is a social service staff person hired or contracted by the development’s owner or management company. The coordinator is responsible for assuring that elderly residents, especially those who are frail or at risk, and those non-elderly residents with disabilities are linked to the specific supportive services they need to continue living independently. Gates Lake Housing Development Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Impact Seven, Inc., opened this building in 2011. Income eligible residents pay electricity and rent is based on 30% of their adjusted income. Heat, water, sewer, and trash removal are paid for by the owner. |
