Details: Springtown Villa is a three-story residential facility (Project-Based Section 8) owned by the San Marcos Housing Authority. It first opened in 1979 and is specifically designated for low-income elderly and/or disabled residents. The facility has 60 apartments (54 one-bedroom and 6 two-bedroom units). The apartments include resident-activated alarm switches to alert neighbors in an emergency, security cameras, a central fire alarm system (connected to the San Marcos Fire Department), a front door equipped with special access codes for 911 responders, a sitting room on the third floor, a laundry room on the second floor, and a community room on the first floor. The San Marcos Housing Authority Resident Services Department has an office on the second floor.
