At The Palms our residents live in one-bedroom or efficiency apartments with their own kitchen, living area, and bathroom. They have opportunities to enjoy the company of other residents in their age group. They also have access to a wide array of amenities such as exercise equipment, a library, and a computer. In addition to the on-site amenities available at our Harlingen, Texas, facility, residents who enjoy getting a little farther from home, can also enjoy athletic events, plays, concerts, museums, and bird and wildlife sanctuaries throughout the Rio Grande Valley. We accept residents at The Palms Retirement Center without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation or gender identy, ethnicity, handicap, disability, religion or national origin. However, applicants must be 62 years of age or older, meet the income requirements, and be capable of caring for themselves and their apartment. The care of providers is acceptable. And, since our rents are based on individual incomes, residents pay approximately thirty percent of their income for housing, which includes utilities - electricity, water, sewer, and garbage.
