Details: It is the mission of the Englewood Housing Authority to provide safe, decent and sanitary housing to low and very low income families in an environment that fosters self-sufficiency and community pride. To this end, in 1981, Westmoor Gardens, a section 8 New Construction project was constructed for 64 families. We have one, two, three and four bedroom units. The complex also includes one handicapped unit as well as seven other modified units for persons with disabilities. Eligibility is based on gross family income and the unit size is determined by family size. Westmoor Gardens is a federally subsidized project that helps bridge the gap between rents needed to make the project feasible and the rents affordable to the tenants. The property also includes the Wesmoor Cafe, a center available for low cost rental for special family events and also available for free for tenant meetings and other tenant organizational functions.
