Comment from C. Vanasse/renter on 2019-01-11 19:54:15: I have lived in NFA60 for over 8 yrs. The first 2 or 3 years were very pleasant. When new management came in, living conditions and comfort changed drastically. The new manager, Mary Crowley, does not manage the apartments, but instead, micro-manages the tenants. She refuses to allow us to hang shades on our patios, which has always been allowed in the past. Two years ago she made maintenance remove shades paid for by tenants and told us we had to buy shades from the office. The shades she sold us were bamboo and 3 times the cost of the shades we had been using in years past. The bamboo shades got moldy during the 1st summer they were used and maintenance removed them the 2nd summer. Mary refused to reimburse us the $60 she charged for the faulty shades. She then got angry and said we are no longer allowed to hang shades. For some of us, this is detrimental to our health as our apartments heat up to 90 degrees or more in the summer months. This was an arbitrary decision as tenants in other properties started a petition which angered her. During the winter months she demands that every person with a vehicle remove them entirely from the property during plowing. She then make personnel put cones at the end of the driveway so we cannot re-enter the property for up to 4 hours. Every year she sends out new notices as to how the plowing will be handled and never adheres to her own rules. Sometimes the walkways are not cleared at all, which has caused numerous falls by the most elderly. She can not be reasoned with regarding this or any other matter. In other matters, she removed the trash bins in all the halls. Prior to this, tenants were allowed to deposit their trash the evening before collection, twice per week. Tenants are now asked to leave their trash in plastic bags, the result of which is horrible. The odor in the hallways is sometimes unbearable. Mary is also very prone to taking a dislike to certain tenants and has evicted some with no grounds for eviction. She no longer shows up to the property, except on rare occasions, and does not keep appointments made between herself and tenants. She also decides when the grounds be maintained, mowed and kept clean. As a result, the property that once was very attractive, now looks disgusting, with hanging, missing, and falling shingles. The roofs leak and tenants on the second floor are forced to put buckets around their apartments. She does not enforce the dog dropping rules which can, and have resulted in undesired results. The mismanagement list continues and many of us would like to see Mary removed as she spends more time at the restaurant she owns than she does maintaining the property and making sure the tenants have what they need.
Comment from Kathy Kelley on 2020-04-16 10:50:38: Can't plant flowers. can't use a BBQ grill. ( even though my friend was willing to drop on off and pick it up at the end of weekend!) cannot put any statuary near your doorway ( Grass area) No gardens,No lawn games. Nothing. Might as well plant a cemetery at new franklin apts'
