Details: The regeneration of the East Hills neighborhood in Pittsburgh began in 2002 when the then-owner of the apartments asked Telesis to become involved to organize new ownership, redesign, and rebuild. Telesis worked with the East Hills residents, the City of Pittsburgh, and the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency to plan and finance the restoration. Until that time, the agency had not done a large scale redevelopment. The redevelopment proceeded in three phases over 4 years with more than $50 million of investment including LIHTC’s awarded by the agency. During the planning process, over 120 individuals representing 58 government, social services, and law enforcement agencies came together to form the East Hills Restoration Initiative. The Initiative’s mission was to promote safety, youth development and employment, and economic development opportunities for all residents of East Hills, and contribute to the revitalization of the community. Since its inception, Telesis and the Initiative have successfully secured numerous grants, including $1.1 million in YouthBuild grants, a 5-year System of Care Initiative grant to bring mental health and family resources on-site to the community, and a Pittsburgh Gateways grant for job development in the community.

Comment from Parent of tenant on 2024-10-04 19:39:08: This place a “Hot Mess” don’t let the rehab fool you! Management’s horrible! Absolutely no empathy. My daughter stays to herself and because of that she’s had her tires slashed, now has mold that they don’t care about, because of this my granddaughter was hospitalized for 2 days, with breathing problems, my grandson has asthma as it is, and the baby has a constant runny nose and cough, has been on antibiotics 3x’s. She’s aske to be moved prior to this because of the drugs and dealing, shootings, consistent loud music, arguments with downstairs neighbor because they decided to put a one bdrm unit under a three bedroom units, kids can’t nor have they been able to leave the porch, because of grown folks dealing drugs, and shootings on a regular. Management has been addressing repeatedly, no assistance at all. Asked to be moved numerous times, says “ one can’t be moved because they want to” not the issue, it’s a must, but she”Tina” will no do anything! She definitely needs fired!Do you have experience with SECOND EAST HILLS PHASE II? Add your review/comment here
