Pinewood Manor offers an additional 50 apartments thru the HUD 202/8 program which aims to serve the extremely low and very low income elderly and disabled thorough Section 8 subsidized rents. Extremely low income is defined as income which is 30% of median income and very low income is defined as income fwhich is 50% or less of the median income of the area. Pinewood residents also have access to The Pines Community Building which is located on the adjacent property and houses the Business Office. In March of 2016 14 apartments at Pinewood Manor, which had also been refurbished in 2002 via the Assisted Living Conversion Grant were also designated Type 1 Assisted Living apartment from the State of Maine.
