Twentyfive apartments are subsidized through the Community Development Corporation of Long Island with project based rental subsidy and twentyfive units are rent assisted by the Town of East Hampton Office of Housing and Comunity Development through the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. This is a low income housing tax credit (LIHTC) project through the NYS Division of Homes and Community Renewal. |

Windmill Village Apartments

Location: East Hampton, NY - 11937 Contact Phone: (631) 324-7195 Details: Windmill I is a private not-for-profit, section 8 202 HUD development that opened in 1987. We are pleased to say that this was the first housing project on the eastern end of Long Island. Being a HUD 202 means our housing project will accept applicants who are 62 and older or 18 and older and mobility impaired. We have 30 one-bedroom apartments and 10 studios. Four apartments are designated specifically for the disabled. Each apartment is equipped with a medical and fire alarm which is hooked to a central monitoring company. |
Windmill Village Apartments Ii

Location: East Hampton, NY - 11937 Contact Phone: (631) 324-7195 Details: Windmill II was built in 2003. It is a housing choice voucher complex (section 8 vouchers are distributed through EH Town or any other housing authority) for applicants over the age of 62, those who qualify pay 30% of their income towards the rent. It is a federally-subsidized complex and accepts applicants from all over the country. There are 47 one-bedroom apartments, all are handicapped accessible. Each apartment is equipped with a medical and fire alarm which is linked to a central monitoring company. Because of the size of the community room, it allows for groups to be able to meet there. Such as the East End Disability Group and the Church of the Nazarene. Bringing community together which is something the Board of Directors has continually strived for. |
