Details: Columbia Crest Senior Apartments consists of ninety (90) newly constructed one and two bedroom units of housing for elderly residents. The 6.5 acre project site is located on the western area of the City of Cohoes approximately two miles from Route 9 and Route 87 (the Northway). It is in an urban residential area served by neighborhood stores and services. Scheduled bus service accommodates the site. Adjacent single-family homes provide a variety of housing opportunities linked together by communal areas and amenities to form an integrated Community. The apartment homes are designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. The community is available to seniors, defined as households headed by a person 60 years of age or older. Rents for these apartment homes, which includes both heat and hot water, are based on an income guidelines determined by the area median income. Electric is paid separately by the Tenant and is estimated to be $53/month for a 1 Bedroom and $70/month for a 2 Bedroom. The 99,450 sq. ft. building consists of a single three-story, vinyl siding/brick veneer, elevator building. Each apartment is built on a single level and consists of approximately 628 square feet for one bedroom and 892 square feet for two bedroom units. Handicapped access is available throughout the building and a number of units are designed so that they can be readily equipped to accommodate handicapped residents. Each unit includes a living room, dining area, kitchen, one or two bedrooms, and a bath with a shower or tub/shower combination, along with interior storage space. Details: St. Vincent’s Apartments is a four-story brick building located in the city of Albany. St. Vincent’s was originally Vincentian High School and in 1979 was remodeled into DePaul Housing’s first building for senior housing. We are on the CDTA bus line. This is not a smoke free property. Parking is on-street or you can apply for a parking permit for the St. Vincent church parking lot. We have a courtyard that is very private with grills, tables and chairs for residents to relax, read a book or just take in the quiet. All of our 552 and 696 square feet apartments include a pull-cord system, updated energy efficient windows, hot water tanks and lighting, window shades and an intercom entry/doorbell system. Our building offers a spacious community room, computer stations, pool table, foosball table, TV with access to Netflix for residents’ use, sitting areas on every floor, a coin-operated laundry room, locked indoor mailboxes, a Service Coordinator, a Live-in Maintenance Technician and 24-hour emergency maintenance coverage. We offer a bus to shopping one day a week. We are an Albany County Office of the Aging congregate lunch dining site three days a week. We also offer regular activities such as resident meetings, game night, social and cultural programs, bingo, pancake breakfast, pot-luck events, holiday celebrations, ice cream socials, coffee hour two days a week, and more. Details: Built in 1974, Townsend Park Homes is a 158 unit senior high rise building consisting of one bedroom apartments. Conveniently located on the CDTA bus line, Townsend Park Homes is minutes away from downtown Albany, the major shopping malls and supermarkets: ShopRite, Price Chopper and Hannaford. A free shuttle bus picks up residents weekly for their grocery shopping at Price Chopper. There are onsite laundry facilities and a computer lab. In recent years Townsend Park has undergone renovations to the elevator system, remodeling of the main floor and upper floors, new window installation in all apartments, upgrade to the heating system and upgrade to the fire prevention system. Details: Van Allen Senior Apartments consists of one hundred ten (110) one and two bedroom units of housing for elderly residents. The eighteen acre site is located within the Delmar area of the Town of Bethlehem on Route 9W. It is in a suburban rural area served by two strip shopping malls providing supermarkets, drug stores and banks, along with other stores and services. Scheduled bus service accommodates the site. Adjacent, single-family homes provide a variety of housing opportunities linked together by communal areas and amenities to form an integrated community. The apartment homes have been designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. The community is available exclusively to seniors, defined as households headed by a person 55 years of age or older. Rents, which include both heat and hot water for the residents, are based on an income level as a percentage of the area median income. Electric is paid separately by the resident and is estimated to be $52/month for the 1 bedroom apartment and $70/month for the 2 bedroom apartment. The 112,466 square foot building is a single, two-story, vinyl siding/brick veneer, elevator- equipped building. Each apartment is built on a single level and consists of approximately 633 square feet for one bedroom and 892 square feet for two bedroom units. Handicapped access is available throughout all of the building and a number of units are designated so they can be readily equipped to accommodate handicapped residents. Each unit includes a living room, dining area, kitchen, one or two bedrooms, and a bathroom with shower or a tub/shower combination, along with interior storage space. Van Rensselaer Village underwent an extensive rehab in 2012, and all apartments now include state of the art utilities, granite counter tops, hardwood floors, central air conditioning, new windows, and internet hook ups in every room.
