Details: 68 Total Units 64 One Bedroom 3 One Bedroom Handicapped 1 Two Bedroom Handicapped Eligibility Guidelines - Applicants must be at least 62 years of age or in need of a handicapped accessible unit and must fall within the income limits as listed below. Residents are limited to part-time student status under the requirements of the low income housing tax credit program. Income Limits (maximum annual income allowable, effective (12/1/2011) One Person $30,200 ($36,240*) Two People $34,500 ($41,400*) * The lower amounts are for Section 8 eligibility, however applicants may have income up to the higher amounts. Income includes social security, SSI, pensions, wages, alimony, interest, dividends, and 2% of all non income producing assets or assets disposed of for less than fair market value. There is no asset limitation. Rents - Rents are based on 30% of monthly income for Section 8 eligibility with allowances for ongoing medical expenses. Heat, hot water, cable, electric & appliances are included in the rent. Applicants with higher incomes pay the basic rent or 30% of their monthly income whichever is greater, not to exceed the market rent. Building and Apartment Features Capitol Square is conveniently located in downtown Pittsfield where shopping, churches, Post Office, doctors and hospital are within walking distance. There is also bus service to all areas of the city and county. The Senior Center is located across the street and offers such activities as lunches, health clinics, traveling groups, bingo, swimming at the YMCA and bowling. There is also an adult day care center located adjacent to the building. There is an on site resident manager and maintenance service. Tenants may use a family room for private events, a community room with television, and an on-site computer room. The building is equipped with an intercom system and each apartment contains emergency pull cord system, heat and smoke detectors for added safety and security. There is a coin operated laundry room on each floor and two elevators. There is also a designated area for visiting health services such as blood pressure and cholesterol screening.
