Details: Unquity House is home to 139 senior individuals and couples who appreciate living in a park-like setting in the midst of a convenient neighborhood. Our Boston, Quincy, Newton, Braintree and Canton area retirement community is situated on the Neponset River, residents can commune with nature from their balconies or enjoy a short walk to the MBTA trolley stop, churches and shopping. The heart of Unquity House is the common area on the first floor, designed for spontaneous socialization. There is usually a "buzz" of activities and conversations, either in the living room, the library, or the cafe/convenience store. The first floor also includes a cheery laundry room, large dining hall used for monthly dinners, lunches and social events, and a beauty parlor. Visitors are greeted by a friendly face at the security desk by the front door. Outdoors there are several seating areas taking advantage of the shade trees and views of the river. In bad weather, there is no reason to go out. Each floor is designed with its own comfortable sitting area and residents can pick up essentials at the resident-run convenience store or feel free to join neighbors for coffee in the cafe any time of day. Unquity House offers many opportunities for intellectual, spiritual and cultural enrichment, exercise and social interaction. The Activities Coordinator plans a wide variety of events including weekly van trips. For residents needing assistance, there is an array of personal care services and other support services such as apartment cleaning and laundry. These services will be provided by Bayada Nurses of Quincy, which has a preferred provider agreement with Unquity House. All personal care and support services are offered on an a la carte basis residents who use the services choose and pay for only what they need. Rents at Unquity House are affordable. Under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Rental Assistance Demonstration, those who meet the HUD income guidelines pay rent equal to 30% of their adjusted gross income.

Details: Join the 160 senior individuals and couples enjoying stimulating, independent living at Winter Valley, a collection of studio, one and two bedroom apartments located on a beautiful wooded campus in the center of Milton. Winter Valley is spread over 12 acres, and is distinguished by a cluster-style design. There are five smaller communities of 32 apartments, each with its own spacious common room, sitting areas and laundry room. Many original artworks are located in several buildings, donated by artists through The Art Connection. The campus is crisscrossed by footpaths and anchored by Knowlton Hall, where community activities take place several times a week. During the warmer months, residents gather outside at the pavilion and garden. Winter Valley is less than a mile from the Milton Public Library, the Milton Senior Center and MBTA bus service. An on-site Activities Coordinator keeps life busy at Winter Valley. Van trips are scheduled for shopping, dining and recreational destinations. Back home there are lectures, games and meals at Knowlton Hall for everyone to enjoy. Most of the activities are free or at a nominal charge. Financing for Winter Valley was obtained through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). For those who meet the HUD income guidelines, a number of apartments are available at a rent equal to 30% of the resident's adjusted gross income. Apartments are available at all income levels; no matter what your income, you can live here. For residents needing assistance, there is an array of personal care services and other support services such as apartment cleaning and laundry. Sixteen apartments at Winter Valley have been designated as assisted living units, providing a safe and comfortable home for those who need extra care.
