    Lymewood is a 24 unit community located in Old Lyme, Connecticut. The community is located in four cottage style buildings with each home having its own front entrance and rear patio door. There are 22 one bedroom units and 2 two bedroom units. Lymewood is owned by Lymes Elderly Housing, Inc., a non-profit corporation. The community if funded by the USDA Rural Development office and as such the community does provide rental assistance for some of the units. The USDA-RD 515 program for the elderly is open to residents whose head or co-head is aged 62 or older or has a disability. The application packet includes more information on all eligibility criteria including income restrictions. Some resident amenities include an indoor coin operated laundry, community rooms for resident activities and beautiful outdoor areas.

    Saye Brooke Village East is a housing facility for the elderly and mobility impaired non-elderly. There are 32 one bedroom apartments and 4 two bedroom apartments. The average size is 600 square feet. The rent is 30% of the adjusted income from all sources. The facility is financed by the U.S. Department of HUD and as such follows the regulations of that agency. Saye Brooke Village East is a non-smoking facility. There is a very active Resident’s Association that holds social functions regularly. All apartments include: A full kitchen with electric stove and refrigerator; Full bathroom with tub or shower; Individual thermostat controls; Window Coverings (blinds); Cable television at discounted rate; Emergency call system; Hard-wired smoke detectors; Two units are fully accessible; Just a short walk to Main Street and Senior Center; All utilities included in rent; A wonderful place to call home.
