Details: Juniper Hill Village is a 100 unit community offering 36 one bedroom cottage style units, 59 one bedroom main building and 5 two bedroom main building units. All units are funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Section 202 program. Eligibility is restricted to residents who have a head or co-head of household who is aged 62 years or older or a head or co-head with a disability and needing the features of an accessible unit. There are units that are fully adapted for persons with disabilities. Juniper Hill includes an Assisted Living Program which has further programmatic restrictions for eligible households and offers supportive services to those households. The community also has a meal program open to all residents that provides one hot meal per day served in the beautiful, centrally located dining room. Community amenities include a sun room, library area, a community room, entertainment room, hair salon and spacious outdoor areas including a large three season community area. The community is owned by the Mansfield Retirement Community which is a non-profit corporation.

Details: Winding River Village is a 31 unit housing facility in Tolland, CT for persons age 62 and older, built by Tolland Senior Housing, Inc., a non-profit organization of community volunteers. Elderly Housing Management, an experienced non-profit organization is the property management company. Winding River Village is located on rural RT.74 in Tolland, on tranquil site of historic and archaeological significance, ¼ miles from the Tolland Green. The building was built in 2002 and has two stories with an elevator. All apartments are one bedroom with a separate kitchen, bathroom and combined living and dining room. The apartments are designed especially for seniors with an emergency call system and full wheelchair accessibility, should it be needed. Rents are 30% of monthly adjusted household income and include all utilities except telephone, cable TV and air conditioning. Several attractive common areas are provided to allow group activities for residents. The onsite staff is committed to working with residents to make this building a comfortable, active and secure home.
