Landscaped grounds and lighted walkways make it enjoyable to visit neighbors, come to the Community Center, or take a short walk to nearby grocery shopping. The City of Waterville, Maine is home to renowned Colby and Thomas Colleges, and also Seton Village, home to seniors looking to enjoy affordable, independent living. At Seton Village persons 62 years or older can enjoy first-floor living in one of our seventy duplex buildings. Off-street parking is available with each apartment. Landscaped grounds and lighted walkways make it enjoyable to visit neighbors, come to the Community Center, or take a short walk to nearby grocery shopping. The homes are located on five connecting side streets from Kennedy Memorial Drive and John Avenue. Centrally located amongst the homes are the offices and Community Center at 1 Carver Street. Here at the Community Building is a large open room for activities, meetings, Residence Council, and more. A lounge is available for quiet reading or a small gathering. Additionally, a laundry facility is housed at the Community Center, as well as tenant mailboxes right outside the door. Our one and two-bedroom apartments are complete with kitchen appliances, abundant cupboard and closet spaces, and even a private back porch to relax outdoors if you choose. The bathroom facilities include a shower and full tub with secure bars for safety. Seton Village is owned by the Catholic Diocese and is managed by the Diocesan Bureau of Housing as a HUD Section 8 subsidized independent living community. Rent is based on 30% of one’s income and includes all utilities (heat, hot water, electricity, and sewer). Lawn maintenance and driveway plowing is also included.
