Details: The Warren H. Timmerman Apartments consist of 6 one bedroom apartments, one of which is fully handicapped accessible. All have a bathroom with a walk-in shower (no tub), full kitchen combined with a living room. Bedrooms have one wall of closets. Each one bedroom unit is approximately 500 sq. ft. The Timmerman Apartments are for elderly only, thus you MUST be at least 62 years old to reside there. All utilities are paid (garbage, water, sewer and electric). Telephone, cable and monthly expenses are the responsibility of the tenant. A laundry room is located in the Community Building. There is one washer and one dryer available for 50 cents a load for tenant use. The Community Room is used for the residents as an extension of their apartment. This room can be reserved by the resident for their private use. A $10 fee is charged to reserve the room for a day and $5 for an evening. Free parking is available for residents and guests. Manning has a Senior Center location that provides meals on wheels or you can ride the van to the center for your noon meal. Home Care services are available in the community if the resident requires help. Tenants must make arrangements for these services on their own. Tenants at the Timmerman Apartments are invited to the organized monthly activities in the Community Building at the Terrace Apartments (421 Center Street) for education and recreation. This is the location of the rental office of Municipal Housing Agency. Maintenance requests come out of this office. Rents are subsidized to those that qualify through the HUD Public Housing program. Occupancy may be offered to persons meeting the family size and income guidelines and who pass the screenings. Again, applicants must be at least 62 years of age to be eligible. Rents are determined by income. A refundable security deposit of the first month’s rent is required. Pets are welcome at the Timmerman Apartments with proof of vaccinations along with a $150 pet deposit. The Timmerman Apartments are smoke free. Smoking is only permitted outside of 25 feet from the building.
