Details: A HUD 202-financed development providing ten units of housing for seniors. Greenfield Commons is located on a half-acre site known as Washington Park and is perfectly located for seniors with shopping, transportation nearby. The Town of Fairfield was an active member of the Greenfield Commons development team providing technical assistance and CDBG funding, as well as the site itself on a long-term lease for $1/year. In addition, Greenfield Commons received a $1,308,997 grant from HUD and a $20,000 grant from the Fairfield County Community Foundation. Greenfield Commons was completed in June 2008 and fully occupied the following month.

Details: Parish Court is a 100-unit apartment community for resident households with head, co-head or spouse 62 years or older, or qualified disabled to be eligible. The community features 60 one-bedroom units, 40 studio units; there are 6 units adapted for persons with disabilities. A one-bedroom unit typically has a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living/dining area. The studio units have either a combined kitchen/dining area and combined sleeping/ living room area, bathroom; or a kitchen, living room and sleeping area. All apartments have large closets and remote control energy-efficient air-conditioning. All residents must meet income restrictions as established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). There is project based subsidy for 77 units. Subsidized rents are 30% of monthly adjusted household income; contract rents are adjusted annually. Existing residents at contract rents are given priority preference for available subsidy. Parish Court is owned by Church Housing for Fairfield, Inc.

Details: Sullivan McKinney is a forty unit affordable housing community designed to serve elderly households as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 202/8 definitions. New Samaritan Corporation a group of churches came together to try to solve elderly housing problems. Reverend Rush from First Church Congregational was the first chairman of the Fairfield Committee to open our doors in 1989. We provide a decent, safe and affordable community for seniors to age in place for over 25 years. Sullivan McKinney was substantially renovated in 2010 including energy efficient upgrades including appliance replacements, HVAC replacements, energy efficient window installations, new roofing and numerous upgrades to the residents’ homes. It is our goal to provide a community where residents can age in place with success, dignity and comfort. We have employed a Resident Services Coordinator at the community who provides residents with links to community services to enhance their ability to remain in their homes.
